How to Create and Add Custom YouTube Thumbnails

Custom YouTube Thumbnails attract the attention of potential viewers by giving a snapshot of what your video is about.

Grab their attention and get them to click to watch!

In the video below I will show you a free way that you can create and upload your custom thumbnails.

I’ll also show you an brand new alternative solution by Joey Xoto.

NB: If you don’t see ‘Custom Thumbnail’ as an option in your YouTube Video Manager â€“ the best advice I can offer is to ensure that your account is fully verified.

  • Hey There Kevin,

Great presentation. I always knew about pixlr, never did try it because I have photoshop. Although, it’s installed on my other computer and not this one. But thanks for the reminder and the how to quickly edit one.

Also, thanks for the heads up on Joey Xoto’s Instathumbnail. Your videos are great and informal.

    • Hey Carlos! Thank you.

I also use PS but when I was away one time and needed to create a quick image using a friend’s machine, I discovered Pixlr.com
It was a life-saver! I’m glad the other info was useful 🙂

  • Hi Kevin,
I am glad you are back 🙂 … and again with very informative video.

For pictures in my posts I am using ImageSuite – a paid WP plugin with free images and picture-editing options, however, I will also check YT Thumbnail Creator you are suggesting… the process seems much quicker.

So, keep going and keep in touch. Rino

  • Kevin, you have succeeded in providing useful, straight forward information. Thank you for the video on You Tube thumbnails. I needed that. I will be returning for more great video content!

    • Thanks Roy.
I’m pleased to see you are sticking to your goal – Good Job! You are so right (in your recent blog post)… ACTION is the key 🙂
